Tell me what Initiatives or Amendments you favor or dislike after our group presentations in class. After telling me what you favor or dislike, explain your reasoning.
Well i think that all three initative measures are good ideas but i hope they don't get passed. They will just get appealed to the Supreme Court and end up costing us tax payers loads of money to pay for the attorneys. I think Amendment G is a good idea because that law is way outdated and makes no sense anymore. Amendment H is great for South Dakota. It will help keep us competative and not drag behind other states. I don't like Amendment I because it could possibly make the legislative branch even less productive just to get some extra money. I belive Amendment J is a great idea because then if the legislators do a good job keep them if they don't the we won't vote for them.
I really don't care for initiatives nine and ten. I just think they are pointless and were both proposed by out of staters. I just think they aren't solving any problems. I agree with initiative 11 I think it a good idea to save lives, but I know it will not last long and there will be much controversy over it. I also don't agree with amendment G and I. They are about the legislatures and have nothing to do with the people. I think it is selfish to think about themselves when we already have no money the way it is. It is not fair to put themselves as a priority over roads, teachers, and health care.
I think that measure 11 is a good and bad idea. I think it is good because it will ban aboriton, but it will keep being brought up in courts. I think that amendment G is a bad idea. They are in there to represent us not to get paid more. They want to raise the money they get per mile. It has been this way for 116 years, so why would we change it now. These are just a few topics that i am for.
I think measure 11 is a good idea, because it's a big problem going on. There are a lot of people that think abortion should not be legal, so it's worth voting for again even though people will probably bring it up in courts.
The only one I support is Amendment H. This is because I believe it will help our economy. I feel all the Intiatives will cause unncessary changes and could lead to expensive lawyer fees. Also I do not like the fact that Intiatives 9 & 10 were proposed by out-of-staters. Amendment I will give extra days that are unneeded. Amendment G seems like a petty complaint by the legislators. Finally Amendment J seems to be legislators trying to just stay in office.

Amendment H will help our economy and that is what we need right now. It will help keep us economically competative.There is some really unessarcary amendments, such as, initiative nine and ten. They are mostly for the legislature, and giving them more money, which is not needed. Initiative 11 causes many agruements, I think even if it does get passed, there will be much controversy over it for years.
Measure 11 is a big problem that has been going around and needs to be solved i think they should just leave it the way it is and not change it. I do like amendment H though i think it will be a good thing for South Dakota.
I would probably say no on measure 11 and 10. the gag law isn't necesary and could just cause problems and I dont think that abortion is really for the government to get involved in.
I am really against amendment g. I did my presentation on it and i think there are a lot of different things that need to be talked about for the people than for the government. I also am against measure 11. I don't really think abortion should really be allowed at all. A baby is a gift wether you want it or not and it is murder no matter what the situation is. A lot of these amendments and measures are pointless just because they deal with the government and not with the people. The government really needs to learn how to be humble and they have to remember that they are here to represent the people and not themselves.
I think that inititive 10 is horrible. IT should not be passed. The amendments don't really excite me but I'm sure they'll make this state better. The one i'm really looking at is intiative 11. Even if it costs a ton of money or takes years to pass it should be passed because abortion is just morally wrong.
I think that all of the 3 Amendments are just stuff to put on the ballot. They don't make very good sense, and the way I see it "if it isn't broke, don't fix it."
I believe that some of the Amendments aren't very clear and some of them don't make any sense to even put on the ballot. I believe that he 40 days one shouldn't be passed because they don't use all of their days anyway. The Initiated measures make sense and i believe that all of them should get passed.
First i dont agree with abortion, but i dont think that the government should make the decision. I dont really agree with the three initiatives, but i also dont think that the have a real strong chance of getting passed. And the one that i agree on is measure H,I think it can benifit our economy.
Because of my belifes and the way my parents brought me up i don't think that any one realy needs to know what i am in favor for or why. that and i do not feel coftrible posting or telling that stuff on a public site for scruteny
I didn't like measure 10 the gag law. This is kind of broad and doesn't really make sense. Everyone should have a say in what they think about the election even if they do work for the government because it would be hard for them to corrupt the government.
I don't like measure 11. Every two years our state decides to try and ban abortion. Every two years it gets shot down. I don't think the government should have a say in what a woman does with her body like that. If abortion is going to be illegal, so should condoms and birth controll pills.
I think that all the amendments are pretty worthless this time around. All it will do is help the people in office, and cost us money. It would be a huge waste of time to pass any of these amendments. Measure 11 is a big controversy, but i believe that abortions are bad.
